New Boat Stern & Bow Eye Issue

Thank you for using our Capsizer 8000! You and your safety are important to us so we want to make you aware of an issue with some newer boats.

1. The new eyes are longer.

  • Our machine is built to be used with eyes that are constructed of 304 stainless steel.
  • Boats with lighter weight and longer eyes may bend when lifted and turned.
  • Automatic latching bow eyes need to be removed and a shorter eye should be installed to accommodate the Capsizer 8000.

2. Some manufacturers install the lifting eyes on the transom at different angles.

  • We have an adapter kit of a pair of adjustable connectors to allow attachment to hook up properly to the lifting eye. 

3. Precaution! When lifting the boat, the boat and the stern need to be at the same height.

This machine is only intended for lifting boats.

CAPSIZER 8000 Fixes

  • Make sure to lubricate the bow swivel on the extension arm prior to lifting.
  • Always inspect the transom for solid conditions prior to lifting. If they are rotted, the transom will need to be rebuilt. DON'T LIFT A BOAT WITH A BAD TRANSOM.
  • Get lifting eyes closer to the machine to offset the weight of the new motors.
  • Use the correct attachments to outboards (make sure to use the correct attachment for the size and length of the eye)
  • We have attachments available for purchase or you can make your own.
